The sun is the supreme Self, transcendent and not in the body or emotions.
You don't HAVE a soul you ARE SOUL (Atman). You HAVE mind/emotions (Jiva) and a Body. But you are the transcendent effulgence that has never been born and that can never perish = ATMAN.
The word Atman is derived from the same root as "Atomic". Pure energy, explosive and eternal, just waiting to be unleashed.
