Sumy has be at the forefront of the war since Russia crossed the border in 2022. Now with the Kursk incursion, launched from the Sumy direction late last year, the region is once again in the crosshairs of the invasion. In order to better understand how the this launchpad for resistance is being used, and the consequences of this strategy for the locals and Ukraine as a whole. We talk to soldiers who invaded Russia, mortar teams avoiding Russian drones, Mayors governing frontline towns under bombardment, and veterans burnt by the war, to understand the complicated mosaic of perspectives that exist on on Ukraine's risky new frontline.
