On June 15, 2021, five-year-old Summer Moon-Utah Wells vanished from her family's rural home in the Beech Creek Community of Rogersville, Tennessee, in a case that has gripped the nation and remained unsolved for over four years.

Lauren and I are interviewing the former neighbor of Don, Candus and now missing Summer Wells. His name is Fred Hill, and when I was speaking to him several weeks ago, I told him some clues that had never been made public. Fred knew exactly where I was talking about, and who I was talking about. As the years have passed without resolution, the investigation into Summer's disappearance has evolved into one of Tennessee's most intensive missing child probes, with the TBI following thousands of leads across multiple states and releasing updated age-progression images—most recently in August 2025, depicting Summer at age nine with longer auburn hair and a more mature expression. The Wells family, including father Donald Wells Sr., has faced scrutiny amid reports of prior domestic issues and child welfare concerns, leading to failed polygraph tests for Candus and temporary removal of the other children from the home.
Despite charges of child neglect against the parents in 2022, which were later dismissed, the family maintains their innocence and clings to hope, often sharing heartfelt pleas on social media.
