The Princeton University Materials Academy is designed to help narrow the achievement gap in science, technology, engineering and math by providing full immersion in materials science education and research. PUMA is sponsored by the National Science Foundation, the Princeton Center for Complex Materials (PCCM), Upward Bound and Gear UP. Special thanks to PUMA Director Dan Steinberg and PUMA master teacher Nicole Carro.
