Located at the southernmost point in Europe, Tarifa is situated at the narrowest point along the Straits of Gibraltar looking directly across to Africa. It is at the meeting point of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. The town itself is a lovely white washed medina with trendy shops and cafes. Along the Atlantic Coast is the Costa de la Luz, the "Coast of Light" which has beautiful beaches with lots of wind for kite and wind surfing. About 10 kms away from town is Baelo Claudia the most intact Roman town in Spain.
