$Steam Support are Incompetent and Liars This is something thats pretty much common knowledge. Anyone that ever had to deal with Steam Support multiple times knows that their support system is atrocious a lot of the time. It all depends on what you want to know and whoever is at the other end of your support ticket. If you have payment questions the support is generally helpful because when money is involved they do tend to want you to be able to spend it. Anything else however entirely depends on who the person on the other end is and if they actually take their job seriously. After all, they dont seem to have any accountability and can just dismiss your questions with a simple copy paste response in seconds. Who are you going to complain to about Steam Support being terrible? Steam Support? After years of dealing with them about all sorts of things, the worst times are when any user generated content is banned through their report system. For instance, I get a lot of scammers adding me and over the years I somewhat made it my hobby to record and display my conversations with them. Of course none of these chat logs show any names or any of the scam links they throw at me and are simply intended to be a showcase of how conversations could go that ultimately lead to scams or phishing attempts. It generally feels like whenever they outsource their support and a new batch of workers comes in, the quality of their work drops significantly. And thats saying a lot considering how abysmal it was to begin with. In a lot of ways their support messages feel like those of scam centers themselves. Lots of scripts and fake names. The only difference being that they want you to go away instead of keeping you around and stealing your money. But back to the reason this video even exists. I had just uploaded a scammer chat log again and shortly after was hit multiple times with content removals. Of course I try to figure out whats wrong and want to dispute them because to my knowledge I did not break any rules. They will never give you a reason why something was removed, that way you might be able to actually prevent further rule infractions in the future and we cant have that. That would make way too much sense for Steam Support. But they also wont be able to tell you whats wrong when you didnt do anything wrong because, well, you didnt do anything wrong. So the easy solution for them is to just say it was removed correctly and call it a day. Who gives a shit about accuracy and doing a good job? Lets just do a quick job. We got thousands of support tickets and they wont deny themselves. After their complete bullshit I said it exactly how it was. They didnt look at anything, they didnt read a word I said. But the kicker is that whenever you get content removed you are also gifted with a penalty to upload content for a day or two. Depending on how many things get removed the time increases exponentially. Thankfully I got an extra gift by Steam Support banning the same artwork twice, giving me double the penalty for the same piece of artwork. Oh boy am I lucky or what? After asking about what the hell was going on with that, they admitted that it was a mistake on their end. Cool story but the penalty stayed the same. Glad to suffer the consequences of your incompetence. So I tried a different angle. I tried to poke them for a way on how I could still share the information on how conversations with scammers proceed. I was suggested to just explain it with text. Oh you mean like the text in my chat log? I left it at that for the day. But the next day I remembered something and looked over my older screenshots of Steam Support tickets. I found a support response that was reasonable, that was factual and was the fringe case of someone actually taking their support job seriously, doing the right thing and providing a small explanation of their decision making process. Absolutely incredible. If only these other support agents that confirmed me time and time again that my content was removed correctly could see this. I should show it to them. And so I did. After throwing their own Steam Support ruling, on the exact same case a year earlier, in their face, I couldnt believe my eyes. They admitted that they saw that I censored the username in the chat log and unbanned the content that they previously confirmed twice was removed correctly. Almost like they didnt actually fucking look at my content and didnt read what I said whatsoever. The sheer incompetence and bold faced lies at display here are mind blowing. Who is going to hold them accountable? I assume absolutely nobody. But I will. I will continue to press for transparency, consistency and accountability until their eyes start bleeding whenever they see who is sending them a Steam Support ticket.$
