Smt. Suchitra is a highly committed Bharatanatyam artist and teacher with over 35 years in the field. Her gurus, Smt. Padmini Chari, The Dhananjayans, and Sri M.V. Narasimhachari (late) and Smt. M. Vasanthalakshmi are important guides and inspirations to her as an artist, teacher, and presenter. She is also a skilled Nattuvanar, and continues her study of rhythm related arts under me as well as Sri Sheejith Krishna (Nattuvangam). Suchitra founded @KalaVandanam - kalavandanam.com - in 2002, committed to education, performance, outreach and presentation to share the beauty of Bharatanatyam; celebrating the tradition while embracing our changing world. Through Kala Vandanam, she teaches a group of committed students, and is an active Indian arts presenter in the Twin Cities.
