Building Lasting Outreach: How FRC Teams Can Strengthen Community Engagement - Tanmayee H., Raiqa A. (FRC 9015)
Questionable Engineering (FRC 9015) was founded out of necessity — after a local high school’s FTC team shut down, leaving Hudson County students without access to hands-on STEM opportunities. Determined to change that, a small group of students came together to rebuild a program from scratch — one that would make STEM accessible to anyone, regardless of school or background.
Three seasons later, our outreach has grown into a network of hands-on programs that combine creativity, education, and community impact.
Along the way, we’ve learned how to plan and market outreach events, use social media to attract attendees, and organize robot demos and STEM activities at festivals and community events across the region.
