In this video, I make a study of my biggest possible whistling range.
I chose JS Bach's BWV4 cantata for this exercise, firstly because the melody is both beautiful and strange and the notes are simple enough for easy study.
In the lowest and highest notes, It's not very musical, but the interest here is the study of whistling, not music.
I whistle four times this movement of the cantata from the lowest possible to the highest possible notes.
The first part, very low, is so low that I can not whistle the notes lower than A4 at 440 Hz. The intensity of the sound is very low, so I have to register very close to my face.
The next two parts, low and medium notes, are easy to whistle.
In the fourth part, high notes, I am able to whistle everything but I reach the limit of my highest notes whistling in a melody, with the note F # 8 at 5920 Hz.
Between the two extreme notes, from A4 (3:24) to F#8 (13:34), there is a range of 3 octaves and 9 semitones.
