Rachel’s a trained singer with years of experience—but when it came to high notes, she was still working too hard. Her volume would creep from 30% to 90% before the chorus even hit, leaving her voice tired and out of room to grow.
We focused on lowering effort, reducing breath pressure, and unlocking her mix with targeted “puffer fish” and “Sisi” exercises. Once she stopped over-squeezing, her voice became clearer, mixier, yet still plenty powerful—even at 80% volume.
The big shift? Less tension, more airflow, and no “yelly” tone.

Do you hate the sound of your singing voice — or feel terrified to sing in front of others? You’re not alone.
In this bonus lesson of my 3-part voice lesson mini series (surprise — there’s a 4th video!), we’re diving into the real reason so many singers struggle with vocal confidence. Spoiler: It’s not just about vocal skill.
Whether youre a beginner singer or youve been singing for years, you’ll learn:
🎯 Why you don’t like the sound of your own voice (and how to fix it)
🎯 How to sing with confidence — even if you’re still learning
🎯 What a “prima voce” is and how to find your vocal sweet spot
🎯 How to pick the right songs for your voice so you always sound your best
💬 Plus: I’ll share a personal story of how finding my vocal strengths helped me go from always hearing no to signing with a manager, getting my songs on the radio, and going on tour.
