📣 Studio Monitor Placement – Part 2!
Let’s talk about positioning in the room.
✅ Distance from the side walls: min 50 cm
✅ Distance behind the monitors: 10–50 cm or min 1.50 m
❌ A distance between 50–150 cm is not recommended.
Low-frequency sound waves reflected by the rear wall overlap with sound waves from the front of the loudspeaker, resulting in cancellations. If you place the speakers closer to the wall, these problems occur above 200 Hz. However, this is not a significant issue, as sound waves become more directional with increasing frequency. At a distance of more than 1.5 meters, this problem shifts to the low bass range, which is easier to manage since many monitors do not reproduce such low frequencies.
