For a summer research project, two Fordham students majoring in neuroscience and natural science studied the genetics of Parkinson's disease. Under the guidance of biology professor Jason Morris, they designed a gene that can be inserted into fruit flies to see how it affects their mobility. They both gained insight into scientific research that will help them as they prepare for medical school and their eventual careers as doctors.
