STS-99 Space Shuttle Endeavour. Launched Feb. 11, 2000. The primary objective of the mission was the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) project. The Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) is an international project spearheaded by the National Imagery and Mapping Agency and NASA, with participation of the German Aerospace Center DLR. It's objective is to obtain the most complete high-resolution digital topographic database of the Earth. This was the first launch of the new century.
