On this sixth day of the STS-87 mission, the flight crew, Cmdr. Kevin R. Kregel, Pilot Steven W. Lindsey, Mission Specialists Winston E. Scott, Kalpana Chawla, and Takao Doi, and Payload Specialist Leonid K. Kadenyuk begin the final preparations for the EVA by Scott and Doi. They are to manually capture the SPARTAN Satellite. After this is accomplished they are to test tools and techniques that will be required for the assembly of the International Space Station. Released Nov. 1997.
