On this third day of the STS-85 mission, the flight crew, Cmdr. Curtis L. Brown, Jr., Pilot Kent V. Rominger, Payload Cmdr. N. Jan Davis (Ph.D.), Mission Specialists Robert L. Curbeam, Jr., and Stephen K. Robinson (Ph.D.), and Payload Specialist Bjarni V. Tryggvason continue to conduct and monitor experiments that will help some researchers measure atmospheric phenomena while other crew members gather data on experiments and hardware that will be used on the International Space Station (ISS). Serving as a testbed for those ISS evaluations, the orbiter is functioning in excellent fashion while the crew gathers data using the Space Vision System. Released Aug. 1997.
