On this eighth day of the STS-80 mission, the flight crew, Cmdr. Kenneth D. Cockrell, Pilot Kent V. Rominger, Mission Specialists, Tamara E. Jernigan, Thomas D. Jones, and F. Story Musgrave, focus on additional science investigations with the Wake Shield Facility while it is attached to the shuttle's robot arm. Jones unberths the Wake Shield, and returns it to its resting place in the payload bay after using its instruments to characterize the environment around the shuttle. Released Nov. 1996.
