On this fifth day of the STS-72 mission, the flight crew, Cmdr. Brian Duffy, Pilot Brent W. Jett, and Mission Specialists Leroy Chiao, Daniel T. Barry, Winston E. Scott, and Koichi Wakata (NASDA), awakened to music from the television show, 'Star Trek: The Next Generation'. Chiao and Barry are shown suiting up for the first of the two scheduled 6 1/2 hour spacewalks and, later, conducting tests with various tools and materials from the shuttle's cargo bay during the spacewalk. The new heating and cooling units in the spacesuits will be tested during these EVAs. Jan. 1996
