In the Vehicle Assembly Building at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, Fla., technicians attached the lifting
sling to Discovery for rotation and hoisting for mating to its external fuel tank and twin solid rocket
boosters. Discovery is targeted to launch for mission STS-120 on Oct. 23. During its 14-day flight to
the International Space Station, the STS-120 crew of seven astronauts will deliver the Node-2 connecting
