Story time as this one is a remix of a song I've not actually released.

The original started about two or three years ago when I was looking to try and incorportate some more music theory ideas into what I was writing, I went about trying to create a fugue and using some other new ideas to broaden my songwriting tool kit. It's ambient piece filled with various string parts that's gone through many different versions and I haven't entirely had the heart to say its dead but in all honestly I probably is.

Fast forward to some time late last year when I downloaded the Koala app and decided to use it to try and remix some of my own music, in a quick and dirty audio sampling on the go fashion. The result forms the basis of what you hear here, I went and recreated it in Ableton and turned it into a full piece with additional sounds - some from the original track itself.

The final piece of the puzzle was attending a local film festival where I saw a short film by @moandsteph6378 - "A Television Broadcast from Outer Space" featuring a character "Awesome Welles" who you hear sampled here. I just happened to have the trailer playing while working on the track and liked how they sounded together. I was also inspired by the breakneck pace of the film and decided to take to sampling more television broadcasts - namely adverts from the 1950s.

The song name is a play on "String Theory" - the model that represents particles as vibrating strings - and "Theory of Mind" - the concept of taking into account what someone else may or may not know. Like how in this case you wouldn't know this was a remix if I didn't tell you.

Anywho, I hope you like the results. Maybe I'll release the original one day.
