A length of Copper wire is stretched by adding weights to one end across a pulley. The experiment is fairly crude in terms of measurements, but serve to illustrate, qualitatively, the stiffness and strength of copper wire, it's elastic behaviour, plastic behaviour and yield, as well as creep.
