"In this increasingly volatile world, Europe chooses cooperation and strategic partnerships. Today, we have signed ... the mother of all trade deals," European Commission President von der Leyen remarked during the EU-India Summit.

Together with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and European Council President António Costa, she attended the signing ceremony of the EU-India Free Trade Agreement. The treaty creates a market of 2 billion people, cutting €4 billion in annual tariffs for exporters of all sizes, and securing supplies of crucial materials and products.
