Varan 6x6 Tactical Armored Personnel Carrier is designed to provide maximum operational flexibility and protection. The layout is conventional with thick armored steel at the front, to protect against head on attacks with the power pack in the middle to create balance and a low silhouette and the crew compartment at the rear, for the maximum protection to the dismounts. Varan is capable of carrying 10 fully equipped soldiers, and is armored up to STANG4 offering protection against mine strikes and IED’s without compromising crew comfort. Stowage has been designed in such a way that all essential equipment required by the crew is stored inside the vehicle and in a way that will prevent it from becoming projectiles in the event of a blast. Varan is fitted with blast mitigating seating with 4 point harnesses, dual Air Conditioning for the drivers and crew compartments, situational awareness cameras for all round battle field awareness and recovery equipment for troop level recovery. The vehicle has a capacity to be fitted with a wide range of Remote Controlled Weapons systems and FFR (fitted for radio) pre wiring, as well as an option of a CBRN suite.
