My first try at making a game comparison video. XD
I decided to try a comparison between Street Fighter from Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection for PC (Steam) and Fighting Street for the TurboGrafx-16 CD/TurboDuo.
Street Fighter clearly looks better in detail and parallax backgrounds but the controls in Fighting Street feel a lot better and the game shines with a much better musical soundtrack. Also, Fighting Street starts you off with 4 stages to choose from whereas Street Fighter only starts you off with 2 stages.
Fighting Street is an amazing port from the arcade Street Fighter, considering the TurboGrafx-16 runs on an 8-Bit CPU. (It is considered a 16-Bit console due to its dual 16-bit GPUs and was the first 16-bit console to be released in 1989). It was originally intended to compete against the NES but it even put one heck of a fight against 16-bit consoles later released known as SEGA Genesis (1990) and Super Nintendo (1991). Compare a game like Lords of Thunder for the TurboGrafx-16 Super CD/TurboDuo and SEGA CD, the TG16 version was the clear winner. They almost look identical but if you focused closer you would notice the difference. On the TG16, the water stage for example shows animation of water draining outside the water cave as you left but in the SEGA CD version, that water and animation detail is completely clipped out.
Unfortunately, the overwhelming force between the SEGA Genesis and Super Nintendo would lead to the demise of the TurboGrafx-16/TurboDuo. :/
BTW, if you are wondering what was up with my random punches and kicks, they actually weren't random. Do you have any idea how difficult it is trying to perform a Hadoken, Shoryuken and Hurricane Kick in this game? It's almost impossible. LOL. XD
