Devin Townsend has been my favorite artist for years. His versatility, musicality and kindness/silliness have been very inspiring for me through the years. When I discovered Strapping Young Lad I was blown away by the sheer aggressivity of their music. A wall of sound characterised by Gene Hoglan's drumming.
The song Detox always felt impossible to play. Too fast, too hectic, too chaotic for me. But I tried anyways after years and years of listening to the band. I'm beyond proud of this cover. It's not perfect and I left a few mistakes in but overall I'm very very happy with the result. Trust me that playing this song with full leg motion multiple times a day was tiring :') but I'm glad I did it !
