On September 30, 2025 in Volusia County, Florida, deputies responded after a couple reported their yard was littered with red-stained tampons. Surveillance video allegedly showed a dark pickup passing the home late September 29 as a person in the truck bed and another on foot tossed about 75–100 tampons across the lawn. Investigators traced the vehicle to Gabrielle Franze, an Orange County Fire Rescue firefighter.
