The backlash to the Stranger Things finale has genuinely surprised me. Disappointment? Totally fair. But the level of anger — and especially the comparisons to Game of Thrones Season 8 — feels completely off base.
In this video, I break down why Stranger Things’ ending may be underwhelming or safe, but why it doesn’t betray its characters the way shows like Game of Thrones or Dexter did. I also react to the Duffer Brothers admitting they didn’t have a finished script before filming — and why that explanation doesn’t really hold up given the modern streaming model.
