Blurb: Telling the truth, even just to ourselves, can be very difficult. If we can do it, it can open up wondrous new connections previously obscured by self-deception. Lying, on the other hand, especially to ourselves, makes us less able to connect. It wedges splinters of misunderstanding between us. Intimacy flees before it. It makes us strangers to those more honest. Though sometimes I am, I don’t want to be strange like that.
