Brunch with us at what has to be the coolest restaurant in New England! It is literally on top of a mountain and you have to take a ski lift/gondola to get to the top. Okay, technically you can also hike it, but you saw that mountain! The ski lift is the way to go.
While this restaurant is what inspired the trip, and I actually learned about it from Molly at Mammoth Club, we of course made the most of our first ever visit to Vermont. While we were there we went on a nature trail/hike to see tons of waterfalls and had such a good time exploring in the peaceful nature around us - even if we looked very silly doing it.
Then, we went to the ORIGINAL Ben and Jerry's factory! This tour was SUPER informative and interesting, but unfortunately, we weren't allowed to film during the tour. They don't want anyone stealing their trade secrets. My favorite part of this company is their mission to be responsible and sustainable and how ethical they are about the environment, marriage equality, and other causes. Did you know that the founders of Ben and Jerry's were friends who met in 7th grade gym class? Or that a VT artist designed the cow mascot of Ben and Jerry's? We didn't!
After that, we did a bit more adventuring to the Cold Hollow Cider Mill for some delicious apple cider. I loved the apple cider slushie the most. Then, we went to the Trapp Family Lodge which was beautiful, though not very welcoming. Lastly, we made a stop at Doc Ponds for dinner which was yummy and I got to try Vermont mac and cheese and maple lemonade! Yum!
It was an incredible trip and we cannot wait to go back and see what else Vermont and Stowe have to offer!
