Meet Leonard “LJ” Hockaday and his ditch maintenance crew from Norfolk's Storm Water Division!👷‍♂️💧

LJ and his crew are out every day clearing ditches along busy roads and in neighborhoods, like this one on Mangrove Ave. in Ingleside where they cleaned and regraded the ditch and cleared driveway pipes to help prevent flooding. 🚧🌊🛑

Norfolk’s 112+ miles of ditches help move stormwater off roads and away from homes while keeping trash and sediment out of our waterways.

Residents play a role too! Simple upkeep like cutting grass and removing litter and debris to keep the water flowing.
