StoryCorps and the @newyorktransitmuseum partnered to preserve some of the voices of @mtainfo legends. Recording inside the museum’s decommissioned subway station in downtown Brooklyn, they shared what it’s like to steer a train through the city, the camaraderie of crew dynamics, and the moments—blizzards, breakdowns, and close calls—that tested the system and the people responsible for it.
Now preserved at the Library of Congress, the stories of Bill Wall, Bill Allcot, Stanley Reid, and others are part of the StoryCorps Archive and available to the public. Listen to their full conversations: archive.storycorps.org/new-york-transit-museum
