This is the way we refurbish worn out lathe tailstocks. A special tool is used for manufacturing a barrel hole. This is the way for both new and remade lathe tailstocks. Tailstock is fixed steady on bed and the saddle feed a tooltip on an arbour that bore barrel hole with high precision. Due to the fact that tailstock is in a fixed position the whole barrel hole can be bored to a 2/100 incline. After this is made a broach is broaching barrel hole. Finally a honing tool is used.
