Many producers make basslines way harder than they need to be.
Sometimes the answer is literally just picking a better sound.
In this video I show you two different approaches.
First, the simple one:
Sound selection.
Corrective EQ.
Saturation.
A little enhancement EQ.
Sidechain.
Done.
You do NOT need 15 plugins on every bassline just because you saw someone do it on YouTube.
Then I get into the more advanced side of things and show you some of the techniques I’ve been using while making the basses for Deceiver 8.
Splitting the low end from the top end, distorting only the harmonics, using serial filters, and actually using processing to CREATE a more interesting sound instead of just throwing shit on it for no reason.
That’s really the whole idea behind this video.
Know when to leave a good sound alone.
And know when processing is actually helping you make something better.
No crazy edit on this one either. Just me teaching.
