During this live session, Rick Stickney explains how your right-hand angle can help you stop hitting unwanted strings.
Instead of approaching the strings directly from above, Rick angles his picking hand when targeting the top three or middle three strings. This position naturally helps him avoid accidentally striking the low E and A strings.
Strong muting still matters—but combining good muting with the correct wrist angle gives you cleaner, tighter, and more controlled rhythm playing.
