Stony Brook University President Maurie McInnis provided the introduction to the Women's History Month Opening Program on March 1, 2023, a panel discussion highlighting the role of women as healthcare practitioners and patients. The event kicked off a month-long series of events on campus in celebration of Women's History Month, including "Artists in Conversation" featuring Distinguished Professor of Art Howardena Pindell, whose work is also showcased in the "Revisiting 5+1" exhibit at the Paul W. Zuccaire Gallery.
