Formed in San Diego, California in 1989, Stone Temple Pilots became one of the most successful rock bands of the 1990s. The band consists of Dean DeLeo (guitar), Robert DeLeo (bass), Eric Kretz (drums), and currently Jeff Gutt (vocals), with Scott Weiland serving as original vocalist from 1989-2002 and 2008-2013.
