This weeks VLOG is all about the ride. The Kawasaki Z650RS is one of the most refined and capable bikes in its class on the market today. In fact, I’d go so far as to say - it IS the most capable. I’ve ridden big and small, tourer, commuter, super sport and classic and this bike is pure enjoyment. There is a vibration appearing after a good long ride. Whether this is the engine bedding in, and showing how it handles the heat well, it’s going to take a lot more time to work out if it’s an issue, or simply a character flaw. With just over 3000 kms on the clock now the engine is only just loosening up. It growls and roars and is unforgiving on braking in any corner. This is a great bike for the beginner when treated with absolute respect but, it tips in sharply and without enough experience it could easily throw a tantrum under braking in a corner. It’s not a hooligan but it does have attitude. Wash speed off well before the corner and power out after the apex. Once used to its personality it will reward you with a capable, secure and well mannered ride but always remember, it holds the high hand so get to know this bike before letting loose. Anyway…….. with the brand new right out of the box Hero 11, this is a first person view or handling the twisties…… ENJOY.
