Please join us for the last Community Conversation before our summer break for a special presentation with Dr. Jyothi Robertson. As the pace of summer picks up, finding stillness can feel out of reach—especially for those working with people, animals, and communities. Stillness Amidst the Summer Surge offers 12 Zen-inspired practices to ground yourself in the moment, reconnect with purpose, and move through the season with greater clarity and care. Each practice will be shared in a way that is perfect for busy minds and full hearts. Dr. Robertson will guide us through techniques that support balance and intention—even during our most challenging times. This conversation is designed to send you into the summer months with a renewed sense of connection to yourself, your work, your community, and the animals you care for.
Special guest: Jyothi V. Robertson, DVM, DABVP (Shelter Medicine), Owner & Principal Consultant, JVR Shelter Strategies

About Community Conversations, hosted by Maddie’s Fund: When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in early 2020, animal sheltering transformed overnight. Foster-based sheltering, home-based employees and volunteers, along with collaboration galvanized our communities. The pandemic, along with social injustice, has motivated our industry to look at how we partner with our communities and confront our own biases. Shelter and rescue staff across the country began talking on a weekly basis, offering support and innovative ideas to do things differently.
