I recently recited a reimagined version of “Still Here.”

My spoken word piece reflects the journey of a people who have believed, built, and broken barriers — even when the path was uneven and the welcome uncertain.

Our faith sustained us. Our brilliance endured. And our contributions helped shape a nation still learning how to fully embrace its full story.

Black History Month reminds us that our presence is not by chance — it is evidence of perseverance.

And by God’s grace, we are still here.
