COVID again. Well we got over the virus faster this time with the help of the paxlovid drug. We are now back on the boat and life is back to normal.

If you are interested in my DC battery powered air conditioner here is a link to a video where I describe what's going on with that.

In short, there are only about a dozen units left in the world, and we aren't sure when or if we'll manufacture any more. So I'm making these limited units available on a first-paid, first-served basis until they are gone. (Which will probably be within the next week!)

This type of AC unit has been a successful assembly for us aboard Temptress, and we've been using it for 3 years. We had partnered with someone to assemble and sell the kits, but our contract with them has since ended. In the process, I bought the remaining inventory of parts.

These are great units, but not very many people know about them yet, and they do require some soldering to install. I have decided I don’t want to run a whole other company just for air conditioners, so I’m going to sell off the remaining parts as kits to folks who are handy and would like them for their boats. That will likely be the end of this project, unless we develop a business relationship with someone else who wants to continue assembling and selling these units.

As I type this, we have fewer than 15 units, and they are going to sell fast.

This may be the cheapest, and most efficient unit on the market, and this may be the last opportunity to obtain the parts to make one of these air conditioners for yourself.

The parts, as defined in the included video link, put you well on the way to making a water-cooled air conditioner for use in a boat. If you wanted to make an air-cooled unit (e.g., for an RV), you could add an automotive air conditioning condenser (which you could find in most any car salvage yard) and a fan, and it would suit this purpose. This is what we did for our truck camper.

What else do you need?

Beyond the kit, here are the parts needed, with links to suitable examples:

Is this kit for you?

This kit can be turned into a functioning unit by anyone with basic handyman skills. The most difficult part is probably the soldering of the copper fittings. If you can solder copper water pipe fittings, you can solder this. But if you feel this is too much for you and you really want to take advantage of what might be the last chance to have solar/battery powered air conditioning in the sleeping cabin of your boat or camper, you could also hire an HVAC guy to put this together for you.

To place an order, follow this link to the “buy” page. I have the parts in hand at our home in Florida. We are back to the boat in the DR but will be back at our house for business in mid-June. At that time we will ship out the remaining units to those who have paid for them.

The "buy" page has a link to a video that shows everything that comes in the kit.

If you’re interested in one of these, I encourage you to place your order ASAP!
