Hey Folks, welcome back to the channel. I hope you enjoy my newest guitar jam track, '"Stickup on Electric Avenue". This one is in the key of F# Minor and has a nice latin groove and nice upbeat feel but only has a tempo of 85bpm. This one is pretty basic, and just has a few chords This one features the rhythm being played on my IYV PRS Clone and the rest of the instrumentation (aside from Bass) are provided by the Fishman TriplePlay unit built into my Godin Session Custom '59. Bass lines are with the Luna Tribal Bass.
This one is pretty simple in terms of structure, with it moving initially between the F# Minor and the B5 and A5 4 times, and then turning around with the C# Minor to an B5 then down to the C# Minor again real quick for the wrap up, I don't think this last part is reflected in the banner in the video. This might be a good track for folks who want to practice solos over a song with a few fairly straightforward chord changes. I would also mention that there is a mini break in the middle and end of the songs the sounds a little different but I am just chunking the chords give it a different feel, same basic chords at some level.
Creation Time: This one took about 3 hours total including video production time.
What is my process: I usually start by trying to select a cool drum track and after that go from there. Usually, Bass lines go next, but it just depends on how I am feeling. Sometimes, I already have a melody in my head and just try to find a drum arrangement that suits it, but other times I just noodle and see where it goes (this was one of those times).
Why No Chorus/Middle8 on some of these jam tracks? Generally speaking, if I go to the trouble of going further than what is presented, its usually because I intend to make it a song for my own projects and that is often why I only present a basic melody or structure to get folks started with an idea... So, I hope you enjoy, and take it somewhere else, or rock out to it as presented, totally your choice....
