I knit all my socks 2.5mm needles - typically Addi Sock Rockets - with a 72 stitch cast on. After some experimenting with 1x1 and 3x1 rib, I’ve been keeping pretty much to a 2x2 rib for about 20 rows or so as that’s what works for me.
People have been asking me about the SOS socks and how I like the afterthought heel - and I love it! I love zooming through the body of the sock and then the second one gets done and before you know it you can just pop in the heels and you’re good to go!
Works in Progress
Rift Sweater by Jared Flood in Quince & Co. Lark “Frost” The body is done, the first sleeve is done and the second sleeve is in progress.
Smooth Operator Socks by Susan B. Anderson in Nomadic Yarns "Rhinebeck Sweater Weather" - will be adding in Sweet Georgia Tough Love Sock “Saffron" heels because I feel like its necessary to have more yellow in my life.
Berenice Sweater by Julie Hoover in Brooklyn Tweed Loft “Thistle"
I’m starting to change my mind on Brooklyn Tweed yarn - this Loft is GREAT to work with. Yes, it needs a bit more care and attention than a 75/25 BFL/Nylon but the hand of the sweater is just SO lovely - and Im loving the pattern. Its a bit of reverse stockinette, a couple of cables, some lace - and its SOOO pretty. I’m planning on making her son the Sock Monkey sweater by Jared Flood as well - more on that later.

Leaves of Grass
That brings me to upcoming projects! I’m planning on using Quince & Co. Finch in “Honey" to cast on for my first Pi shawl - and I’ve chosen Leaves of Grass by Jared Flood. I’ll be making the larger size to use as a bed spread/couch cozy. Have you ever done a pi shawl? Loved it? hated it? Let me know!
