Pat and Micki return with the game precisely nobody was asking for: Final Fantasy XIII! FF13 is a weird game, in that it was received rather poorly, at least in North America, it went on to receive two sequels that were by all accounts pretty good, and Square hasn't acknowledged the series since. It is the only single player Final Fantasy to not get a re-release, so we'll be playing the PC port on Steam, which won't run on modern hardware without mods. I never gave this one much of a chance after all the criticism it received, but I think maybe there's a case to be made that we misunderstood it. Such a radical departure from other JRPG's felt like a bad omen at the time. Maybe today, it will be easier to judge this game on its merits. What do you think? Have you always loved it?
