Let's take a look at our first catalytic reaction in this series, the Stetter reaction, which will allow us to look at catalytic cycles. This will also be an example of Umpolung chemistry, which we have discussed previously. The Stetter reaction allows for condensation of an aldehyde with an enone, so let's get a closer look at how it works!
