SESSION ABSTRACT
Are numbers a necessary feature of building up anything like mathematics or science? Or are they only a feature of the particular history of human mathematics and science? I'll discuss this question in the context of what I've learned from many years of exploring the computational universe of possible programs, as well as my experiences in computational language design, and our recent Wolfram Physics Project, and its potential application to the foundations of metamathematics.
