The saying goes that, "Everything is bigger in Texas", and Stephen "Pesadelo" Hall (http://www.pbjj.net) is no exception. He's an imposingly large figure, teaches and coaches jiu-jitsu, has a full-time job, competed a multitude of times and trained like a madman. Simply put, he does everything big! The one thing that outshines all of this is his personality, as he is one of the most intense, funny, happy and caring persons you will ever meet. He welcomed JJM with open arms into his studio in Dallas, Texas and taught us more than just jiu-jitsu.

In this video Stephen demonstrates a modified cross choke using the wrecking ball control he learned from Marcus "Wrecking Ball" Hicks.

For more on Stephen and a full breakdown of the move seen in this video be sure to grab a copy of issue #25 of Jiu-Jitsu Magazine.

About Stephen:
Walking around at 6'5" and somewhere between 230 to 240lbs of muscle you would think that Stephen Hall gained the name "Pesadelo" (translates to "Nightmare") just from his intimidating stature if you saw him standing across from you on the mat. Unfortunately his size will probably be the least of your worries as the real reason is because of his great technical game that he learned starting at 163lbs. The term warrior gets thrown around in jiu-jitsu from time to time and you'll probably find no better figure to look to than Stephen. Diagnosed with cancer prior to ever beginning training Stephen has already battled a much larger opponent than any person he's ever competed or will compete against. By this time he will be a few months closer to being recognized as completely cancer free. He literally willed himself through one of, if not thee most rigorous training and competitive schedule we've ever come across to earn his black belt in 4 years. His story is powerful and inspiring.
