As a member of the project team, Steen feels that the research being done in
the ion propulsion lab at Colorado State is cutting-edge, teaching you what's
on the horizon so your education is actually keeping up with what's going on
in industry. This was demonstrated when the FAST Pallet team took first place
in the 2007 poster/demo competition in the Colorado Space Grant Consortium
competition. As a recent graduate, Steen is turning his enthusiasm for space
exploration into a job as a space engineer at one of the largest aerospace
companies.
