In 2000, Steely Dan recorded a cover of Joni Mitchell's 'Carey' for the Joni Mitchell tribute album, "A Case of Joni". It was reportedly recorded over a period of six days (an astonishingly short time for Steely Dan). However, Becker and Fagen's cover was cut from the album, along with others. The album was eventually released in 2007 as "A Tribute to Joni Mitchell".
Fast forward to July 7, 2022: Radio host Steve Acri of Pittsburgh Freeform radio uncovered the unreleased tune and played it on air. Hope you all enjoy; Give your thoughts in the comments!
