Before fitting any new door, getting the measurements right is absolutely critical. In this first part of the installation I go through how I measure the existing opening, what to check before removing the old door, unbox and inspect the new steel door, look at some of the available options and accessories, and finally remove the existing door and prepare the opening for installation.
The steel door shown in the video comes with a range of configuration options, including different colours, glazing panels, ventilation options, fire-rated versions, different locking options, double-door configurations and frame extensions. Made-to-measure options are also available for non-standard openings.
I also take a look at the supplied hardware and fixing points and explain some of the tools and fixings I use when fitting doors into masonry.
