Hey all,
This is a beekeeping chat, but not just any Bee Chat. This Bee chat is for the hobbyist, sideliner, and even commercial Beekeepers. Join in, ask questions, and engage other beekeepers from around the world. We'll discuss Beekeeping and the importance of educating yourself, learning more about those bugs in a box better known as apis mellifera.
Our guest is Mary Bammer from the University of Florida. From Mary, "I have worked full-time in the bee industry in several different capacities (researcher, educator, beekeeper, etc.) since 2013 and have been with the UF Bee Lab since 2014. I got my start in native bees and worked extensively with bumble bees for a short time early on. Although I have worked with honey bees for several years, I have only been a dedicated beekeeper with my own colonies since 2020. At various times I have kept bees in MI, FL, WI, and MD. I have a masters degree in Extension Education and I currently run a very small scale urban beekeeping business in Baltimore, called Mary Bee Beekeeping."
