Andrew Tsai | SteamOS 3.2 Beta is HERE! Steam Deck gets 40Hz Refresh Rate Switching, new Fan Curves @Andytizer | Uploaded April 2022 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
In this video I demonstrate the new SteamOS Beta 3.2 on the Steam Deck which brings the much requested feature Refresh Rate Switching. This allows games to run at 40FPS/40Hz which improves battery life, frametimes and makes the Steam Deck less hot. It is also much smoother than the previous 30FPS/60Hz option due to the framerate and screen refresh rate being matched. I also show how to install the SteamOS Beta, how to revert back to the Stable release. And I also show the new desktop keyboard popup and the new game fan curves which should improve fan noise for lower end games.
